Kelly De Rose, Orchestra Director

Kelly De Rose, Orchestra Director, began her musical training at the age of seven when she started violin lessons at the Flint Institute of Music (FIM).  She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Eastern Michigan University (1995) and her Master of Music degree from Central Michigan University (2003).  Kelly is in her 22nd year of public school teaching and her 15th year with the Mona Shores Orchestra Program.  She is active in both the Michigan Chapter of the American String Teachers Association (MASTA) and the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA).  Kelly’s primary instrument is violin and she has performed professionally for the Maine State Ballet, the Midland Symphony Orchestra, and is currently a member and the manager of Lakeshore Strings, performing at special occasions in the community.  Kelly is married to Robert De Rose and is mom to 6 year old daughter Parker, and 3 year old son Carter.
